Burnley Jazz Summer School is happeneing again this year. For everything you need to know and booking please follow this link to the Burnley Mechanics web site.

Once again I'll be taking part in the 2nd weeks, the "Rhythm Section only" week, sharing ideas and having a deeper look through playing at all things Jazz and all things Jazz drums! Be great to see you there.

Dave Walsh's Drumometer tm video makes it on to the drumometer education page. Check out the link to some fantastic Drumometer tm content. The Drumometer tm is a far better choice than a metronome alone. Check out my short clip about how I use it on the Videos page.

Other video news. My DVD, which has been talked about for several years now (!) is, as I'm writing this, being written to DVD and looks actually like it's going to be finished. It's called "Beyond The Basics" and should be for sale via this web site and a few music stores, both online and in the high street, by spring.

Still one of the best drumming sites in the world.

Other news on the teaching front. As of January 2008 I have just started teaching at my old school Chethams School Of Music, here in my home town of Manchester. This is a special moment for me as I was te very first drum kit student Chets ever officially had.

As of September 2006, I started a new position at Leeds College Of Music in the UK and joined a team of 5 drum tutors. L.C.M. is the largest music student campus in the UK and offers a fantastic range of courses including a B.A. in Jazz Studies and also a new B.T.E.C. in Jazz Studies with access to the same staff as the B.A. course. A fantastic opportunity for any young player. I'm part of a fantastic team of staff who are amongst some of the best players in Europe.

Go check out the Leeds College of Music web site for more information.

A big thank you to Mike Donovan at this great web site for everything they he's done to keep the concept of sharing ideas alive and building up a fantastic database of lessons. If you haven't been, check em out. It's got everything about drumming from Repairs to Soloing and The Buzz Roll to Tango.

"Thanks Mike", for your tireless efforts in the expansion of drumming ideas and philosophy.

RhythmTraders.

Great site run by some very nice people for all kinds of different drumming and percussion needs.

I am now a proud endorsee of Istanbul Cymbals. Take a look at my drumming page with some info on some great cymbals I've just added to my collection. More to follow. I keep spending money!
